Following up on strong demand for asset protection in and around factories and warehouses, Tru-Bilt launched a range of Downpipe Protectors in 2019.
This was our first project; involving the installation of 17 Downpipe Protectors at a new warehouse in Christchurch, New Zealand, and we were very pleased with the results.
Generally all protectors are fitted from the base of the downpipe to ensure full coverage of the lower section, however this client requested that those in more exposed traffic zones were fitted slightly above ground level to protect the pipes from contact by larger trucks at a higher level, which is also an option.
The high-visibility ‘safety yellow’ finish alerts vehicle drivers to the presence of downpipes, avoiding most collisions before they happen. In cases where a minor crash does occur, the 3mm steel guards take the brunt of impact and protect the fragile pipes from damage.
Tru-Gard Downpipe Protectors are available in standard size (1200mmH x 350mmD x 300-350mm variable W) and large size (1200mmH x 500mmD x 300-350mm variable W), offering the 50mm width adjustment for installation across different pipe diameters. Straightforward to install, each kit includes 10 x M8x75mm screw bolts and easy to follow instructions.
