The door frame bollard is one of Tru-Bilt’s oldest Tru-Gard™ products. Designed way back when we had a vested interest in protecting industrial doors (because we manufactured those as well) and made as tough as nails to withstand the impact of workplace vehicles, these stalwarts of our traffic safety range are robust and highly valued by many Tru-Gard™ clients. In early 2023, our full frame bollards underwent a design change. The new facelift makes them even stronger, safer and more impact-resistant, as well as easier to install and more cost-effective.
This was the first installation job for the new style, completed at DMS Progrowers’ Te Puna packhouse, where top quality New Zealand kiwifruit is packed in vast quantities. Forklifts cart boxloads of the precious fruit in and out of the store all day during the peak of the season, entering and exiting doorways at speed to achieve utmost productivity. With high value assets like automated rapid-roll doors, sliding doors, door lintels and wall panels at risk, this customer asked us for maximum protection throughout the plant, to avoid accidental damage and any downtime created as a result. Easy three-step installation was an important factor, as well as any cost savings we could find because of the soaring price of steel due to global inflation. Our new design created a kit with three simple parts: two side posts and one top bar with the supports already welded in place. Supplied with all the necessary bolts to put together quickly and efficiently, we improved both the installment speed and overall product cost. Needless to say, the client was very happy with the outcome and is delighted with the site-wide fitout.
